Hollister Surfer's Knoll Sweater

Kmart
I am a firm believer that you do not have to spend a lot of money to look great. My sister gets a lot of her clothes at discount and second hand stores and she is always looking amazing. But that takes a lot of patience this blog is to make your shopping experience easy, so I have gone to some inexpensive stores to see what I could find. Look at all these gems!
Shopko
Shopko is one of the few stores that you cannot buy online. They do put their weekly add online, so I went through and found some cute thing, but you will have to go to the actual store to purchase. What is more these items are all on sale!
Costco-designer for less
Costco right now 2/25 has designer jeans (Page Premium, 7 for All Mankind, and Joe's Jeans), for great deals. Much less than you will find elsewhere. Thanks for the tip Kenzie!
SAG Awards 2008 (My Picks)
More beautiful dresses. My favorites were Eva Longoria and Kate Beckinsale. Lets be honest, can Angelina Jolie look bad in anything?
Emmys 2008 (I liked reviewing the Oscars so much I went back and did some other awards shows.)
These dresses are so gorgeous! I love big events where people get dressed up (heck I do that for church), so I really love awards season. My very favorite dresses were Deborah Messing and Heidi Klum. But they were all beautiful!
Oscar Night on the Red Carpet-My Picks
I love the Oscars! Not really the show itself, but I love to see all of the clothes. I love all of the red! Jessica Alba looks great! Cameron Diaz has a great dress, but the fabric looks wrinkled. Good thing she could look great in anything.

Layers Clothing
Layers clothing is so great! I really love it. I am actually a distributor for it since I like it so much. They are about to launch their new spring/summer line, which means I need to get rid of my samples. Here are a few of the styles I am going to be giving away. We will do different sizes so only those who fit into that category will want to participate, but we will eventually get all of the sizes.
The Tankini (editorial)
As far as I am concerned, the tankini is right up there with the great inventions of the world. Who ever thought of a two piece swimsuit that actually gave you coverage in the most troublesome area for a lot of women was a genius! What's more when you wear a one piece it is also hard to hide your "gut" but with a tankini where the two pieces meet is usually enough to hide and to flatter. I am in love with them. I have to be honest I have about 15-is that crazy? I actually love swimwear. One of my favorite categories of clothing there are so many fun things that you can do with it. I love the bright colors, the fun cuts the different styles of material. It seems crazy to be talking about swimsuits in February, but swim season is just around the corner and all to good suits go fast (especially the Modbe swimsuits I featured this month, thy fly!). So started getting geared up for Summer!! I can't wait.

Bangles and Braclets
I love bracelets! They are my jewelry weakness. I just think that they can always make an outfit look good. I especially love big chunky bracelets like these. They are from Banana Republic (which by the way usually has awesome jewelry) and JCrew.
Beware of Stripes (fashion opinion/tip)
It is interesting that I am writing this editorial as I used to be a stripe addict. For some reason a shirt wasn't cute to me unless it was striped from top to bottom. My little sister had this same syndrome (I am sure there is some medical terminology for it, I just don't know what it is yet, maybe Zebritis?) The first time I ever even thought there might be something wrong with our zebra mentality is when my sister got married and her husband teased her about all the stripes she was wearing. That is when I looked into my own closet and realized that 75% of it was striped!
Now don't run to your closet and throw out everything striped you own, there is nothing wrong with stripes and in a lot of cases they are really cute. Just don't fall into the trap of having everything striped. Not only that not all stripes are good particularly when they are just too busy! They are also not all that flattering-solids, especially black are much more slimming.

Lauren Jeans Co-Flor Wool Turtleneck Dress
I bought this dress a while ago. Again I have had a lot of compliments on it. It is even cheaper now than when I bought it. The sale price is $79.99 from $199.00 (I didn't spend that!) It doesn't come with the belt and definitely needs one, preferably a thick black one (mine is patent leather and looked awesome in my own humble opinion.) The other note of caution is that it is a sweater and will stretch,so keep that in mind when choosing a size. SPANX would also be helpful with this dress.

There are a variety of online stores that offer undershirts to go with things that you may want to extend up the neckline or the shoulder to a cap sleeve. I also love these because they are long enough to tuck into my jeans so when I bend over nobody sees what they don't want to (you know what I'm sayin'?)

JCrew Cotton Cady Daisy Dress
I love this dress. I don't own it, nor do I have a reason to as it looks like it is for a wedding or formal event (neither of which I plan to be at for quite some time). I just think the cut is so elegant and the color is beautiful (it is called orange peel). Since I did mention that orange was an in color this year maybe one of you can use this in your wedding party. Let me know if you do!!!
Shabby Apple Tokyo Tea dress on sale!
This picture does not do this dress justice. When I saw this dress on the Shabby Apple website it was one of my least favorite. Then I went to a party (they do trunk parties), and tried it on and it was one of my favorites. I bought it with the red dress below. I wore it with tall pointy black boot and felt so cute! This is one dress however that definitely needs a pair of SPANX underneath. It is also on sale. It was $68.00, and is now only $51.00. BARGAIN!
Shabby Apple "Summer in Nice," dress
This is also a dress I bought from Shabby Apple. It is the funnest dress to wear. It has a sash around it that you can tie in a big bow at your hip, or let hang long (it is the length of the dress). The full skirt (that is very in right now), reminds me of the 1950's era. When I work it I wore red lipstick with high white heels. I felt like an old time movie star...again tons of compliments!
It was $92.00, it is now on sale for $69.00. If I were more patient I would wait for things to go on sale, as it is I have to buy it if I love it.
Shabby Apple Sale
This is a way cute dress! It is made of tweed wool so probably not one that you would want for the summer but it is on sale so why not buy ahead for next year. I promise you, you will not find another dress this cute. It is very slimming and the puff sleeves are adorable! It is originally $98.00 but on sale for $73.50. Love it!
Fashion Trends (editorial)
I have been through thousands of clothes, possibly hundreds of thousands of clothes on the internet. By now I am starting to see a few trends for this spring. There are a few colors that have been coming up over so I am going to go out on a limb and make some educated guesses as to what is going to be in style this spring.
The colors I have seen again and again are yellow (all shades), navy, orange (especially light or mild oranges), purple, kelly green and some red. Polka dots are still in. I really thought they'd be out by now, but am delighted they are not-I love polka dots!
The styles are very feminine. The sleeves are especially a big trend this year. Most of the things I am finding have a bell, lantern, or flair sleeve. Though it is called a number of different things it is pretty much the same, really fun sleeves.
The trapeze top is another thing that is in. It is a boxy styled shirt that is very flattering to the midsection. If you have noticed a lot more tops are being shaped in an A-line instead of straight down which is something I have wished designers would do for years. It is a lot more flattering.
Wide leg pants are in. I read somewhere that skinny jeans are not in anymore. I think that is a matter of opinion since top designers continue to sell them. I still think they are cute if worn right. I am grateful the flare jean is still in since it is by far the most flattering style.
Whatever is "in" or "out", the most important thing to think about is how you feel in an outfit. If it is all the rage but you feel like a clown in it than it is OUT! Your opinion is the most important one.

This is the best dress! The sleeves are great and the length is just perfect! I wore it to an event one day and just about everyone I talked to asked me where I got it. It is $118.00 from Nordstrom.com. It comes in black or white. It also comes in a lipstick red which is on clearance for $69.90.

JCrew Flannel Parlour Skirt on Sale
