Most of us have had the experience that we have seen something one of our girlfriends have worn and it looked absolutely fantastic on them. We immediately go home and surf the internet in pursuit of this article of clothing. Once we find it we immediately buy.
When we buy this article we don't look at it very objectively because it looked so great on our friend. The first time you wore it you may have felt uncomfortable or conspicuous in it. This is a sure sign that this is not the skirt, blouse, swimsuit, etc. for you.
We have all heard the term "dressing for your body type." It is so true. Not only should you dress for your body type, but for your personality. When my husband and I got married he wore these really bold print, rayon shirts. I started noticing that his stepfather wore the same shirts. His mom was buying both of their clothing. My husband is reserved, young, fun and extremely classy. These shirts didn't fit his personality at all (or his age). We quickly remedied this and now he dresses like a rock star.
Not everything will look good on everyone! When buying something look at it objectively on yourself instead of picturing how hot it looked on the model. Ask yourself if you feel attractive in the article of clothing. Buy clothing that makes you look good! The hardest thing about this is to be brutally honest with yourself.
It is also important as I have said many times before, that you buy the right size. Nobody knows what size that you are wearing. If it is too tight or too baggy-don't get it! Both will make you look heavier than you are. When you do this the focus goes off of the whole package and onto, wow that is really tight, big etc. What is the point of buying an amazing top when people can't get over wondering how you are breathing in it. Again be honest with yourself and you will look much better.
